*Update on the current status of the Board of Directors:
The WVTA Board is gearing up for the January 2007 Legislative Session. Our current legislative agenda is set for the following:
1. Compensation for on call time
2. Plan B retirement age 55 to 50
3. Locality pay for housing in certain areas of the state
*Law Enforcement Appreciation Day is set for Tuesday, February 13th, 2007 at the State Capitol rotunda.
*Now that the WVTA is a certified Political Action Committee (PAC) we have the ability to campaign for or against candidates and lobby for our own legislative agenda accordingly. Joe Adams has been appointed Treasurer for the PAC to manage its financial resources and I have been appointed Chairman of the PAC.
*Our dues increase has taken effect as of January 1st, 2007.
*Be sure to check out our new on line sales page on the web site. John Rapp has taken on this challenge and has done a great job getting this up and running. More items will be added as the site is developed further.
*The Plan B law suit may be filed by Marvin Masters as early as this week. Will keep you updated as more information is obtained.
*The next WVTA Board meeting is set for January 22nd at 1000hrs. Please feel free to attend.
*Keep an eye out for the “Fugitive Files” sponsored by the WVTA. These fugitive ads will be featured on local news casts on various stations throughout the state. The goal is to have total state coverage soon with ads on WOWK, WVNS, WTRF, and WBOY.
