president's Message

A message from President Lonnie Faircloth on advocating for legislative support, securing benefits, and building a stronger future for the West Virginia State Police and its dedicated members.

I’ve spent 27 in the State Police, and it’s more than a career to me; it’s a calling. Over the years, I’ve seen the very best of people in some of the most difficult moments, and I’ve learned that behind every Trooper is a family and a community that stands alongside them.

As President of the West Virginia Troopers Association, my dedication is rooted in respect for the men and women who put on the uniform every day, and for the families who share in that sacrifice. I know firsthand the long hours, the missed holidays, the stress that comes home at the end of a shift, and the pride that comes with serving something bigger than yourself.

The WVTA exists to support our Troopers and civilian employees, to advocate for their safety, their well-being, and their future, and to ensure their families are never forgotten. Just as important, we are committed to the communities we serve, because strong communities and strong law enforcement go hand in hand.

I am proud of our Troopers, grateful for their families, and thankful for the trust and support of the people of West Virginia. I will continue to stand up, speak out, and work every day to make sure those who serve are supported, respected, and protected both on and off the job.
